Your chessboard doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Supply your own design, colors, patterns, or artwork to create a personal playing surface.

Marble, resin, metallic, and 3D effects are printed appearances. The playing surface remains flat, smooth glass, with no raised squares or textured artwork.

Upload artwork you own or have permission to reproduce. For a functional chessboard, your finished design should include a clearly readable 8 × 8 grid with 64 alternating squares.

Made for Playing Chess

This is a functional glass chessboard designed for use with your own chess pieces. The smooth surface provides an even playing area, while your custom artwork makes the board personal enough to leave on display.

Choose contrasting light and dark squares to keep positions easy to read. If you already own chess pieces, consider their base sizes when selecting your board and artwork layout.

4 mm Tempered Glass with a Glossy Finish

Each board is made from 4 mm tempered glass with straight polished edges, square corners, and a clean, frameless appearance.

Your artwork is applied using high-resolution UV printing on the backside of the glass, followed by a white protective backing layer. The clear glass front sits above the printed design, creating a glossy finish with natural reflections.

Tempered glass can be up to five times stronger than ordinary annealed glass of the same thickness, offering increased strength for everyday handling and play. Glass can still break if dropped or struck, particularly at its edges.

Easy to Clean

Gently wipe the glass front with a soft microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and everyday marks. Use a lightly dampened cloth when needed, then dry with a soft cloth.

The printed artwork sits beneath the glass, so you clean the smooth front surface. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaning products.

Playing-square sizes and border widths depend on your uploaded design. Choose artwork with a clear, readable grid suitable for your selected board size.

Optional Design Editing — Add $10

Have artwork that needs preparation before printing? Select the $10 design-editing option on the product page when placing your order.

Editing assistance can include adding a chess grid or adjusting the artwork’s layout for the selected board. Send your file and instructions so we can review the requested changes.

This option provides editing assistance for supplied artwork; extensive changes or a completely new design require a separate discussion.

Before submitting your artwork, check the spelling, image quality, grid, borders, and placement. A print preview is available upon request; it is not automatically provided.

For the clearest result, upload an original design file rather than a screenshot. Colors may differ slightly between your screen and the finished print because screens and printed materials display colors differently.

Production and Shipping

Production takes 2–3 business days once your artwork is ready for printing. Time spent preparing artwork, completing requested edits, or reviewing a preview you have requested comes before production.
